  Abdul Kalam:- Early Life and Family Life

APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October, 1931 in the temple town of Rameswaram, located in Tamil Nadu. His full name was Abul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. He was born to a very poor Tamil Muslim family. His father name was Jainulabdeen Marakayar and mother name was Ashiamma. His father was a boat owner and imam local mosque and mother was a housewife. Kalam was a youngest of five siblings, one elder sister Asim Zohar and three elders brother Mohammed Muthun Meera Leebai Maraikayar, Mustafa Kalam and Kasim Mohammed. His forefathers had a good business of trading grocery back and forth between Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. Moreover, they used to ferry pilgrims between mainland Tamil Nadu and Pamban Island. Therefore, the family earned the title of "Mara Kalam lyakkivar"  (Wooden boat-steerers). When Pamban bridge was constructed and came into operation in 1914, his family business failed and property got lost over the time. When Kalam was a child, his family was poor and Kalam used to sell the newspapers in his hometown to support his family financially.



 Abdul Kalam:- Education Life

In his early school year, Kalam was an average student but was curious to learn. He evolved his interests in Mathematics and Physics. He completed his primary and secondary education in Schwartz Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram, TamilNadu, India. For his further education, he moved to St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli, TamilNadu shera he graduated in Physics in 1954. In 1955 he enrolled at Madras Institute of Technology to study Aerospace engineering. In Madras Institute of Technology, while working on a project, Dean was very dissatisfied with the lack of the progress of the project and threatened Kalam to revoke his scholarship. He gave Kalam a deadline of three days. Within three days, Kalam completed the project and impressed the Dean who later praised him, “I was putting you under stress and asking you to meet a difficult deadline.” Kalam narrowly missed out on achieving a dream of becoming a fighter pilot as he was placed on the ninth spot but, only eight positions were taken in the Indian Air Force.

Being of Abdul Kalam Career

After graduating from Madras Institute of Technology, Kalam joined DRDO as a scientist. He has began as a career by making a small Hovercraft. He had also attended the INCOSPAR committee, where he worked under Vikram Sarabhai Kalam was transferred to the ISRO in 1969 and was directed to the project SSLV-lll, the first indigenous designed vehicle. In 1970, he has directed two projects, Project Valiant and Project Devil. Although  the Union Cabinet disapproved of that project. Despite this, Indira Gandhi assigned some secret funds for the Kalam project.


Rise of Abdul Kalam Career

In 1970 to 1990 year, Kalam made all efforts for the development of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle and SLV-lll project. He become successful in both projects. In 1982 he returned to DRDO as a director. Hw then enforced the integrated guide missile development plan. In July, 1992 Kalam become the chief scientific advisor in DRDO, till December 1999. During this time period, performed an intensive role in the Pokhran-ll nuclear tests. In which five nuclear devices were detonated in the Rajasthan desert. Kalam was famed as a national hero for his defense of the country.



  Abdul Kalam:- Award and Achievements

Kalam was the proud recipient of Padam Bhushan, Padam Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna awards from the Government of India. He receive the same in the years 1981, 1990 and 1997, respectively. In 1997, he was honored by the Government of India with the Indira Gandhi awards for National Integration. Later, the next year, he was awarded the Veer Savarkar Government of India. The Alwars Reserch Centre, Chennai, bestowed Kalam with Ramanujan Award in the year 2000. Kalam was honored with the king Charles ll Medal by the Royal Society, U. k in 2007. In 2008, he won the Hoover Medal given by ASME Foundation, USA. The California Institute of Technology, U.S.A, presented Kalam with the International Von Karman Wings Award in the year 2009. The IEEE honored Kalam with IEEE Honorary Membership in 2011.



Abdul kalam:- Contribution To The Country

Kalam had made significant contributions to ISRO with the evolution of the country's first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-lll). He had also leaded the project of India's first satellite "ROHINI".

When he was in DRDO he led the Integrated Guide Missile Development Program (IGMDP) to develop five missile- Agni, Prithvi, Akash, Nag, Trishu. Kalam virtualized the concept of joint partnership which led to the formation of BrahMos Missile India and Russia.



  Abdul kalam:- Death Life

On 27 July 2015, Kalam travelled to Shillong to deliver a lecture on "Creating a Livable Planet Earth" at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong. While climbing a flight of stairs, he experienced some discomfort, r the auditorium after a brief rest.At around 6:35 p.m. IST, only five minutes into his lecture, he collapsed.He was rushed to the nearby Bethany Hospital in a critical condition; upon arrival, he lacked a pulse or any other signs of life.Despite being placed in the intensive care unit, Kalam was confirmed dead of a sudden cardiac arrest at 7:45 p.m IST.
